Driver Education

Traffic Safety Association of Macomb County now offers Segment 1 and Segment 2 Teenage Driver Education Classes!

TSA is licensed by the State of Michigan, and all instructors are carefully selected and background checked. Classes are scheduled monthly, and you will find that we offer classes at very competitive rates. All of our students are treated and instructed with dignity and respect.

Segment 1 consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction, and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction, and 4 hours of observation time in a dual-controlled automobile, fully-insured, covering each student enrolled in the program. Classroom instruction must be a minimum of 3 weeks in length. Behind the wheel instruction will not begin until the student has received a minimum of 4 hours classroom instruction. Behind the wheel instruction must be completed no later than 3 weeks after the classroom instruction has been completed.

Segment 2 consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction.  Must have completed 30 hours of “behind-the-wheel” drive time (including 2 hours of night driving) with parents or guardian.  Must wait 3 months between receiving Level 1 Learner’s Permit.

Segment 2 classes are available to students regardless of where they completed Segment 1.
