Segment 1 Program Details
Minimum age requirement for Segment 1 is 14 years and 8 months old by the first day of class.
+ Consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction, over 3 weeks
The State of Michigan requires that classroom instruction is 2 hours minimum per class.
**Classes are typically held Monday through Thursday, but can vary depending on holidays.
+ Includes 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction
Students are required to complete 6 hours of driving in a dual-controlled, instructor-occupied vehicle, as well as 4 hours of rear seat observation.

Segment 2 Program Details
To be eligible for Segment 2, students:
* must have completed Segment 1 (at any location)
* have completed 30 hours of “behind-the-wheel” drive time including 2 hours of night driving, with parents or guardian
* Must have permit for 3 consecutive months before taking Segment 2
* Note that student’s driver license from their permit is required on the registration form, as per the state of Michigan.
+ Consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction over 3 days

Roseville High School Driver Education –
Driver Education is offered at Roseville High School for RHS Students ONLY.
3 weeks – 4 days a week at RHS from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
